If the sun doesn't shine there is still plenty to do with many varied great attractions and places to visit across the Kent Riviera area. Here are just a few suggestions:
Visit Ramsgate's Maritime museum and the Ramsgate Tunnels and Home Front museum. This provides a fascinating guided tour around Ramsgate wartime tunnels. Able to shelter thousands of people from war time bombing raids – the tunnels became virtually an underground town.
Margate's iconic Turner gallery always has something on show for the art lover. Since its opening the Turner has led to a booming artistic quarter in Margate with many smaller galleries and studios in the old town
This 'retro' style amusement park in Margate attracts visitors with its 1950's and 60's style rides and other attractions. Re-opened just a few years ago it is a great day out for the family
Located just a few miles apart in the coastal towns of Deal and Walmer these two castles are well worth a visit. Walmer castle was the final home of the Duke Of Wellington
Just half an hour from Ramsgate, Dover castle overlooks the famous port town. One of England's finest castles it is a must visit
Centrally located in the historic city of Canterbury this is the Church of England's most important site. Visit the cathedral and combine it with a day trip to other sites of Canterbury
